Pre-Evaluation and Screening

Before any client visit is confirmed, we assess your health and suitability for treatment and participation in any of our programs. We may require recent medical tests like electrocardiograms and echocardiograms, as well as other assessments to be uploaded on the Beond HIPAA-compliant patient portal.

We value your active participation in your care at Beond and we welcome your input at every step of this Pre-Evaluation and Screening process, so we encourage (and often require) you to share certain relevant medical conditions to tailor services to meet your specific needs.

Our aim is to understand the “Whole Person” (body + mind + spirit and full range of goals) of every guest who may visit Beond. Our physicians and clinical team ask detailed questions and conduct in-depth in-person interviews by video conference, however, many conditions do not necessarily exclude you from participating in our activities.

Upon Admission

When you arrive, every guest undergoes thorough assessments, including electrocardiograms, vitals checks, urine drug tests, and blood chemistry panels. Our medical team reviews this data within 24 hours of collection, performs medical and physical examinations, and customizes your treatment plan. Our physicians and clinical team will explain (in plain English) the exact details of the results of all tests and the relevance to their efforts to customize your treatment plan.

We aim to increase your safety by removing any unauthorized substances and facilitating additional tests, if necessary, in collaboration with other specialists.

Our medical and nursing staff are trained to respond swiftly to any unexpected events, such as arrhythmias or changes in heart rate or blood pressure, among other events. Electrolyte adjustments and hydration, cardiac monitoring, and preparedness for corrective measures are implemented as needed.

The importance of maintaining electrolyte balance for mitigating cardiac risk in ibogaine treatment has been known for more than three decades therefore the use of oral and IV supplementation of electrolytes, especially Magnesium, Sodium Chloride, Calcium, Phosphorus and Potassium, and the monitoring of electrolyte levels to maintain healthy electrolyte balance is an integral part of the optimization of patient safety in ibogaine treatment.

Our medical and nursing team continuously drill and train to identify and address any adverse events including but not limited to Torsade de Pointes, using a range of interventions including but not limited to the administration of IV Magnesium Sulfate, Potassium, electrical cardioversion or defibrillation and overdrive pacing, to revert.
