We’re honored to share this historic milestone in psychedelic policy and trauma care.
On June 11, 2025, Texas officially passed HB3717 — a $50 million commitment to researching ibogaine and other psychedelic-assisted therapies for PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and addiction.
This isn’t just about legislation or research. It’s about listening to those who’ve served, those who are still struggling, and those who’ve been told, again and again, that there’s nothing left to try.
It’s about beginning to recognize that healing takes many forms, and that we need better tools and more compassionate systems to truly support people.
At Beond, and through our nonprofit Beond Service, we’ve been honored to walk alongside The REID Foundation, Bryan Hubbard, and Governor Rick Perry as this bill took shape. Their vision, courage, and commitment helped bring a deeply stigmatized medicine into serious policy conversation, and now, into action.
We’re especially moved to see public funding finally directed toward options that so many veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors have sought, often outside the system, and often at great personal risk.
HB3717 isn’t the finish line. It’s a beginning. We’ll continue doing what we do best: holding space for safe, ethical, medically grounded treatment; generating real-world data; and supporting every person who walks through our doors with respect, care, and dignity.
Healing is a basic human right. And we’re grateful to be part of a growing movement that is helping make that a reality.
